Scott has been building custom homes since 1980 under the name of Norris Construction. A licensed and insured builder , he is also a member of the Home Builders Association. Scott comes from a large farm family of artists and craftsmen, who appreciate the value of honest, hard work. It is his unique ability to combine livability. budget, and beauty that make his custom home designs so outstanding. By listening carefully to the homeowner,paying close attention to site characteristics, and designing according to a client's budget, Scott has the ability to transform a vague dream into a reality that often surpasses the client's expectations.

A native of Traverse City, Scott appreciates the value of a good reputation and has a long list of satisfied customers to attest to this. Adhering to the highest standards of craftsmanship and ethical business practices, while offering fair pricing, he has earned a reputation as one of the leading builders in the Grand Traverse area.

Marcy Hurst - Owner / General Manager

Marcy has 20 years of experience in the building industry. A seasoned professional, her unique combination of experience and knowledge combine to bring the client a level of service unparalleled in the building industry. She began her career in 1983 with a position in customer service at a retail building supply center. She then advanced to office administrator where she handled contractor accounts, becoming familiar with materials, scheduling, and the importance of adhering to a budget. Working closely with builders and blueprints led her interest toward functional design. After completing a series of training courses with the National Kitchen and Bath Association, she found a niche in the design and sales of cabinetry and fixtures.

In 1991 she teamed up with a builder, where she spent 10 years successfully growing his business. Marcy supervised the office and field staff, consulted with clients on design, and guided them through the overwhelming process of building a home.

Old World Custom Homes was formed in 2001 when Scott Norris and Marcy Hurst combined their talents. Marcy's expertise includes; design consultation, assistance in the selection process, and budget management making her an integral partner in the company.

Rick Smith - Project Manager

Rick has been in the building industry in varying capacities for 15 years. He has worked in all aspects of the building process from framing to finish carpentry and is a licensed builder. After gaining sufficient experience building homes, he was promoted to assistant field manager where after just one year, he was offered a field supervisory position which he held for 5 years prior to joining Olde World Custom Homes.

Rick's experience, knowledge and commitment to excellence is the perfect compliment to the working dynamic of the Olde World team.
